People who have/had breast cancer need efficient and effective treatment.

I don't want you to struggle with:

  • Not knowing which treatments cause what problems and who is high risk.
  • Being too specialized, not screening for early symptoms, and missing avoidable side effects.
  • Lacking clear outcome measures, tests, and treatment plans to guide consistent care.
  • Not having referral tools or pathways to connect with oncology teams for timely rehab.

This certification isn't just a comprehensive breast cancer rehab course.

KickPink 3.0 Course Road Map!

This course is self-paced. Each module averages about 1 hour of content (~2-3 hours of content per week). The course roadmap may be adjusted and the exact lecture lengths will be published upon course completion.

KickPink 3.0 is currently in development.

The projected timeline for completion is by April 1, 2026.
I am looking for 20 PTs and OTs who want an interactive learning experience at the old course price of $579

You will receive course modules as they are completed in real time.
Registration is optimal for you now if:

  • You do not need a course that is state-accredited for CEUs. I will provide registrants with the information required for their state/province CEU approval, but I can't apply for CEU accreditation with specific PT state boards until the course is complete. Some states will allow the practitioner to submit your course certificate with course details for approval (you can refer to your board's Practice Act to confirm). See FAQs for more information.
  • You want a highly responsive course experience. Participants are encouraged to implement coursework/materials and provide feedback surrounding their needs for clinical optimization.

What KickPink Practitioners said about KickPink 2.0

Completing the Breast Oncology Rehabilitation course was an enlightening experience, and I am thrilled to share my testimonial. Susanah, our instructor, proved to be an exceptional guide with a teaching style that is both articulate and captivating. Her clarity in presenting complex concepts made the learning process immensely enjoyable. I found great satisfaction in the course, and Susanah's expertise and engaging teaching methods contributed significantly to my understanding of breast oncology rehabilitation. I genuinely relished the learning journey and am grateful for the valuable insights gained under Susanah. THANK YOU SOO MUCH for your efforts .

IQRA NAZ
Doctor of Physiotherapy - Pakistan
Cohort 6

I took this class to learn more about supporting people after gender-affirming top surgeries. I found that this course met my goal of learning about research regarding breast cancer surgery rehabilitation, which can be applied to other surgeries of the torso. I am extra thankful that this course gave me a much-needed perspective on breast cancer rehab, as many people undergoing gender-affirming mastectomy are found to have cancer afterwards and need additional treatment. I am incredibly thankful for this coursework and would highly recommend it to other rehabilitation therapists.

KEN MCGEE PT, DPT
Pelvic Health Physical Therapist -Washington
Cohort 7

I truly enjoyed all of the in depth knowledge about medical breast cancer treatments and how rehabilitation therapists can be a valuable asset for this population. I not only have a better understanding of what my patients are going through but also WHY they are having the symptoms they are having and how to help. I liked how the course was put together making the material very digestible, how easy it was for me to listen to the lectures on my phone, and how engaging and fun Susannah is as a teacher. I am ready start implementing my new skills to help those who really need it.

How will KickPink 3.0 be better?

As I create this course, I am strategically including resources to optimize our breast cancer rehab practices, like:

  • Algorithms for medical interventions based on breast cancer diagnosis.
  • Rehabilitation frameworks for treatment by side effect.
  • Resources to make administration work like documentation and creating plans of care easier.
  • Clinical cheat sheets, checklists, and educational materials to elevate patient care.
  •  Lab demonstrations with breast cancer patients and case studies.
  •   Shorter lectures with well-organized modules for easy clinical reference.

Course Objectives

1. Perform an initial evaluation at the time of cancer diagnosis, formulate a plan of care based on the prospective surveillance model, and adjust treatment accordingly throughout medical management and beyond.

2.  Provide early intervention to improve post-operative surgical outcomes and prescribe progressive therapeutic exercises based upon primary surgical interventions and reconstruction techniques.

3. Perform manual therapy techniques to improve scar tissue and fascial mobility post-operatively.

4. Assess and treat common post-op shoulder complications including shoulder impingement, capsular contracture, and lymphatic cording.

5. Incorporate brain-pain neuroscience into education & treatment for post-mastectomy pain syndrome.

6.  Identify patients at higher-risk of lymphedema, provide preventative education, and deliver evidence-based solutions to reduce the risk of lymphedema onset.

7. Perform an initial lymphedema assessment, provide therapeutic interventions for stages 0-1, and identify appropriate referrals to certified lymphedema therapists for complete decongestive therapy.

8. Understand the rationale, application and side effects associated with adjuvant treatment including chemotherapy, targeted therapies, radiation and hormone therapy in order to screen and provide early intervention for treatment side effects.

8. Assess for cardiovascular fitness, initiate a safe and effective exercise program during adjuvant treatment to reduce side effects of medical treatment, improve cancer outcomes, and enhance physical and mental health.

9. Understand the pathophysiology of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, and provide appropriate interventions to improve balance and safety in daily living.

10. Understand the side effects of hormone therapy and provide appropriate screening and interventions for osteoporosis, joint pain, and dyspareunia (painful intercourse).

11. Demonstrate communication and value as an oncology team member and market cancer rehabilitation services to the community.

Hi, I'm Susannah...

my passion for breast cancer survivorship is both personal and professional.

When I was 12 my single mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and I became her primary caregiver. Later, as a physical therapist and women's health resident at Duke University, I was exposed to many people's stories and treatment plans; I was shocked by the 'acceptance' of side effects by medical providers and the short-sightedness of rehab solutions offering little beyond lymphedema treatment...I knew we could offer SO much more!

I began scouring the research for explanations of side effects and treatment ideas, but the research was scant (this was in 2011) and I was moved to create solutions to aid in the positive evolution of cancer care. I wrote and taught the first comprehensive breast oncology course in 2013; since then, there has been a massive onslaught of new research pertaining to breast cancer survivorship and it has certainly kept me on my toes synthesizing all of the new information and updating coursework.

It has been a joy to teach this course globally and meet providers who are just as passionate as I am about elevating breast cancer care & improving survivorship. The work of delivering comprehensive breast cancer care is rare, necessary, rewarding & appreciated. I hope you join us in this mission.
Susannah Haarmann, PT, WCS, CLT

Frequently Asked Questions

This course was designed for rehabilitation practitioners (physical & occupational therapists); it provides a framework for optimal care during and after breast cancer treatment to prevent and alleviate often unnecessary side effects that can become a detriment to survivors' quality of life.

I invite all oncology team members (physicians, nurse navigators, nutritionists, etc.) to take this comprehensive course. When we come together for the same purpose (improving breast cancer survivorship), our collaboration provides the opportunity to understand each field's unique perspective, improve communication, and advance standards of care for people with breast cancer.

Massage therapists specializing in cancer care have integrated this course into their practice; however, the instructor cannot speak to interventions within the scope of their practice. Exercise physiologists and athletic trainers who are qualified to work with cancer patients have also benefited from this course.

Although this course teaches the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of breast cancer patients, it is the responsibility of every practitioner to work within their own scope of practice.

This course is currently in development. Registrants can refer to the course roadmap for an outline of the course, but this is subject to change. Susannah is committed to updating the course 'Breast Cancer Rehabilitation: Comprehensive Evaluation & Treatment' with the most up-to-date evidence and practical clinical resources. The projected timeline for course completion is by Q2, 2026; however, it may take longer. Susannah is still working in the clinic and will prioritize creating the best course updates over rushing to meet a timeline. Registrants will receive new modules as they are completed.

The last course was 16 hours of content, and Susannah suspects this course will be around 16-18 hours. Participants are encouraged to provide feedback about course content. Attendees can ask questions within the KickPink Practitioner Facebook group or email the instructor, who will answer questions via email or video for the benefit of all course participants.

Note: You must complete the online test at the end of each section before advancing to the next. Your course certificate will be emailed to you after completion of the course evaluation.

Both! I get that everyone has a different lifestyle and method for optimal learning.

You can access the course content immediately upon registration. You will be emailed when new modules are available. While you have the flexibility to set your own pace, I recommend keeping pace with the instructor so participants stay on a similar page.

The best learning is achieved when you enjoy the content, ask questions, and get support from the group. If you intend to submit for CEUs, most states require completion of an online course within a year of registration.

'Breast Cancer Rehabilitation: Comprehensive Evaluation and Treatment' has previously been approved for CEUs. I do intend to apply to specific states that reciprocate with other states upon completion of the course; however, I can not guarantee approval at this time.

If you are interested in receiving CEUs for this online course, please research your state or province's requirements. It is up to the licensee to ensure they meet the requirements for their state (for example, some states have CEU categories to fulfill).

You can email [email protected], and I will do what I can to assist you in obtaining CEUs and providing the information for your state; however, they are not guaranteed with this course. The following information is generally required for CEU approval. It will be provided upon completion of the course (course description, course objectives, course time, ordered agenda, faculty CVs/resumes, certificate of completion, bibliography with up to 10 sources from the last 10 years).

You will maintain access to the course upon completion.

Refunds will not be provided for this course after enrollment.

KickPink certification demonstrates you have completed an evidence-based, comprehensive course in breast cancer rehabilitation.

As a KickPink practitioner, you will:
- Be listed on the practitioner map on KickPink.com so people who are looking for your services can find you.
- Be eligible to take the advanced courses in breast cancer rehab when they become available.
- Have the option to participate in done-for-you marketing initiatives to increase traffic to your services.

Your clinic may take this course; however, each individual practitioner must register independently to obtain course certification.
